Intercultural Summer Academy in Jena
This year the Intercultural Summer Academy (ISA) is celebrating their 15th anniversary in Jena, Germany. The celebrations were held from August 27th until September 7th by the department “Intercultural Business Communication” of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena in co-operation with the association interculture.de.
In the framework of various workshops a renowned team of trainers imparted culture specific and overall cultural knowledge. Participants were able to discuss their intercultural questions and listen to interesting intercultural presentations in evening events.
For example, the ISA offered the workshop “Accompanying and developing intercultural teams”, which is a practical analysis of fundamental questions regarding the creation of teams with international members. The workshop participants learned how to the analyse group dynamics and were given a chance to try it out. With the method “Intercultural Icebreaker” participants were given a tool for team creation in an intercultural context.
Trainers and coaches were able to hold interesting discussions about challenges and the practical use of intercultural training during the seminars.
Exchanging thoughts in a network of like-minded people was very amusing and enriching at the same time
